DATELINES OF POLITICAL INFAMY AND SARAKI’S CCT ACQUITTAL… by Samuel Ajayi

Check these datelines:

In August 2013, Olubokola Saraki, the Senate President, joins five governors to walk out of the PDP convention effectively signalling the end of PDP.

In December 2013, APC leaders including Bola Tinubu and Bisi Akande, go to receive Saraki to APC singing his praises to high heavens; saying he resembled his father, the late Olusola Saraki, a consumate politician.

In February 2014, the EFCC makes attempt to bring Saraki to book over his role in the collapse of the now defunct Intercontinental Bank which was later taken over by Access Bank.

Between March and April 2014, APC leaders launch a massive media campaign against the PDP/Jonathan government; saying the inquiry was nothing but “political persecution” because Saraki left the “sinking PDP”.

Around January 2015, Saraki allegedly donates the sum of N5billion to Buhari’s campaign fund.

June 2015, Saraki, despite opposition from the Presidency and Tinubu camp, emerges the Senate President.

June 2015, same APC leaders (Buhari and Tinubu camps who once defended Saraki less than FIFTEEN months before) launch vicious media campaign against Saraki’s Senate Presidency bid/emergence.

August 2015, Saraki is taken to the Code of Conduct Tribunal. Case has been dragging on since then.

June 2017, CCT says Saraki has no case to answer.

Notes:
Same APC leaders who said he was being witch-hunted under Jonathan took him before CCT.

Same APC who collected money from him for Buhari campaign also took him before CCT because he wanted to be Senate President.

Same people who hailed CCT in 2012 over Tinubu are today saying the agency is a fraud for exonerating Saraki.

Let me tell you again: IF YOU THINK THIS REGIME IS HONESTLY FIGHTING CORRUPTION, THEN YOU SHOULD GO AND SEE YOUR PSYCHIATRIST IMMEDIATELY!
